Brothers is a 2009 American psychological war thriller and a remake of Susanne Bier's 2004 Danish film Brødre, which takes place in Afghanistan and Denmark. The film stars Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman and is directed by Jim Sheridan. Both films take inspiration from Homer's epic poem Odyssey. Tobey Maguire received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his performance.
