Heartbreaking and beautifully nuanced adaptation of Pasternak's novel. Depicted the savage Russian winter as never before on film. Haunting score....especially Lara's theme.

Dr. Zhivago was a wonderful movie that I saw when I was 25 years old - and many times since. Rod Steiger was fabulous and did brilliant acting! What an actor......

Doctor Zhivago is a British 1965 epic dramaromance film directed by David Lean, starring Omar Sharif and Julie Christie. It is set in Russia during World War I and the Revolution, and is loosely based on the Boris Pasternak novel of the same name, immensely popular in the west, but banned in Russia at the time. For this reason, the film could not be made there, but mostly in Spain.
