I saw this western in Brooklyn when it first came out. I thought it was a lot better than the critics giving it 2 Stars. I would give it at least 3, and perhaps even 3 1/2. The acting was fine, and both James Garner and Jason Robards were very believable as Earp and Holliday. Robert Ryan-always a good performance-was also believable as Ike Clanton. The scenery and music also added to a very fine movie. I think the problem with it was that there had been so many other movies about Earp, Holliday, and the Clantons that this one was hard to rate as good. It was panned by the critics but very well liked by the public, as it became one of the most popular westerns of the 60's.
