Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is a 2004 American fantasy comedy film directed by Brad Silberling. It is an adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. The film stars Emily Browning as Violet Baudelaire, Liam Aiken as Klaus Baudelaire, Kara and Shelby Hoffman as Sunny Baudelaire and Jim Carrey as the villainous Count Olaf, with narration by Jude Law. The film tells the story of three orphans who are adopted by a mysterious villain who attempts to steal their late parents' fortune.
